Micro-luminescence measurement to evidence decomposition of persistent luminescent particles during the preparation of novel persistent luminescent tellurite glasses

The preparation of tellurite glasses with persistent luminescence by adding luminescent particles in the glass melt is reported. Compared to phosphate glasses, afterglow from low, indicating that more corrosive on than melt. However, as opposed no emission Eu3+ was detected photoluminescence spectra when crushed into powder. We show a confocal Raman microscope can be used evidence presence glass-particles interface confirming some oxidation Eu2+ actually takes place during glasses.
